My Favorite
I am a big fan of the movies and T.V shows, i can spend most of my time on watching movies on T.V or T.V shows. I can also say that is my best time ever, is when going to watch a movie on the movies theaters with family or friends. When it comes to specify a favorite T.V show when asking someone, it will become very difficult, but when it comes to me, i can easily say that is my favorite T.V show is "Wanes Diaries". This show is about a man who is a father for four children, and he is trying over the seven parts of the series to learn them the values that will make from them a great father and mother in a comedy frame.
Although "Wanes Diaries" is my favorite show, and i consider it perfect, but you still can find some hidden stereotyping in its story. Stereotypes is a behavior done by an individual
in the community and then another individual do it to be circulated from all
other individuals in the community (Module 3, 2013).
In my culture, we can find this stereotyping coming from the discrimination between the boy and girl. It started in the far past decades when the girl or the women couldn't even look from the window of her house, and the community was considered this as a forbidden behavior that she cannot do. On the contrary, the man could do whatever he want, and this behavior has been taken by all the people living in that community and they considered it as a general behavior, and it becomes a stereotyping.
This behavior of course has been disappeared now from the Egyptian culture, but you can still find the families discriminate between their children, and they treat the boy in a different way than they treat the girl. Meant so that the boy can do things that the girl cannot do. For example, the boy can be late outside the house for two or three A.M, but the girl can be outside the house no later than 11 P.M. Also the boy can travel to a foreign country for studying or for vacation by himself, but the girl can't do such a thing in some families, and that is what we can find in "Wanes Diaries", my favorite show.
We can observe here, that the old culture has helped a lot in the presence of this stereotyping, it was passed down the generations to still be common till now, and no doubt, it is a negative thing, because it make the girl feel that she have no rights in her society other than the boy who can do what every he want. But this can still have a positive side, which is it gave the girl the power to prove herself in the community, and it changed her from a weak girl that cannot look from the window of her house, to a woman that can drive a plan. But with all these challenges, she still face this kind of stereotyping, and the discrimination between her and men.
